For some tickets there is a student discount, but not all. If you have purchased a ticket with a student discount, you need to prove that you are a student at the ticket control. See more here.

A pre-booked ticket is valid only for travel with the specified departure. More flexible tickets may be sold by the regional public transport companies.


Keep in mind that tickets for journeys from Denmark to Sweden with the Öresundtåg are valid +/- 3 hours.

Subject to availability, you may bring a baby stroller onboard free of charge. On the outside of the trains there are stickers showing the carriage where you can board and place your baby stroller.

Remember that the strollers's brake must be on. And that the baby stroller must be positioned so that it does not obstruct other travelers or escape routes.

Terms and Conditions of Travel

For traveling on a Single Fare ticket with Blekingetrafiken, Hallandstrafiken, Jönköpings Länstrafik, Kalmar Länstrafik, Länstrafiken Kronoberg and Skånetrafiken, the terms and conditions of travel by public transport in southern Sweden (in Swedish) apply. These terms and conditions also apply when traveling by Öresundståg with Västtrafik.

When traveling with Öresundståg within Denmark, Danish rules apply, corresponding to those that apply to DSB. Look at DSB's website the link: "Fælles Landsdækende Rejseregler" or "Joint National Travel Regulations". You can also contact Skånetrafiken who is responsible for the route in Denmark for more information.

For traveling on a Resplus ticket, Samtrafiken's terms and conditions of travel for Resplus journeys apply. For vehicle-specific rules such as amount of luggage, bicycles, etc., the transport companies' own travel conditions apply, stated on the transport companies' respective websites.

For traveling on a Sing

The Oresund trains are international regional trains mainly operating in the Oresund area around Copenhagen and Malmö. They connect Demark and Sweden through the 4km Drogden Tunnel and the 8km Oresund Bridge. On the western part of the network, from Helsingor via Copenhagen to Malmö and Lund, trains run every 20 minutes. On the eastern part there are three branches, running to Göteborg, Karlskrona and Kalmar, each of them is served by one train every hour.

Trains are modern EMU running at speeds of up to km/h. They have air-condition and power sockets. Currently, trains are being fitted with WiFi, but not all trains are equipped yet. They have facilites for the disabled and a small self-service bistro. Bicycles are conveyed as well. Oresund trains offer seats in 2nd and 1st class in open-plan arrangement. In both classes there are four seats per row (2+2), arranged in rows as well as facing each other.

Seat reservations are available for seats , and 35/37 (1st class) and (2nd class) in coach 1, as well as for seats in coach 2 and seats /, and in coach 3. If you don't have a seat reservation, avoid these seats.

Compensation for delays

Our ambition is for all trains to be on time, but unfortunately, we do not always live up to this. If you have been at least 20 minutes delayed, you can apply for compensation. The compensation is based on the size of the delay and the ticket fare.

To apply for compensation for a booked trip, please contact the regional transport authority in the county where your journey with Öresundståg started.

Resplus

If you have traveled with a Resplus Ticket consisting of two or more subsequent train journeys, and have been delayed, you apply for compensation using the Resplus form. If you have a Resplus Ticket it is written on your ticket.
